Sa’ad Shakil is a BFA graduate in Media Arts (Film & Cinema) from the University of Karachi. One of his notable achievements in filmmaking is InsanZada, a 36-minute 'one-shot film' that has won awards at internationally renowned film festivals. He divides his time and ambitions between being a filmmaker, photographer, and research scholar. His previous roles include Art Director at SEC (Advertising Agency) and Executive Producer at Plumage Pictures. Additionally, Mr. Sa’ad has frequently collaborated with the mainstream TVC production company Ambience Films and is a core team member of the performing arts group Bi-carbo Theatres. He has completed his M.Phil. in Philosophy from the University of Karachi, focusing on Bergson-Deleuze Cinema, and is currently pursuing Ph.D. research in the intersecting areas of Hermeneutics and cinema/screen studies. Sa’ad is an Assistant Professor at the School of Social Sciences and Humanities (S3H) at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). He has previously served as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Karachi and has been a visiting faculty member at leading state and private universities, teaching undergraduate and graduate programs in Film & Cinema, Media Sciences, Mass Communication, and Liberal Arts/Humanities.
