In The Spotlights Principal School of Social Sciences & Humanities (S3H), Appointment as Member of the Advisory Council of the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI)

#NUST is proud to announce the news of the appointment of seasoned economist Dr Ashfaque Hasan Khan, Principal School of Social Sciences & Humanities (S3H), to the Advisory Council of Asian Development Bank Institute.

Dr Khan has served as a consultant to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific, the Asian and Pacific Development Centre, the Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank. He has been a member of the Economic Advisory Council of the Government of Pakistan. He remained the Special Secretary Finance/Director General, Debt Office, and Economic Adviser Ministry of Finance, as well as the Spokesperson of the Government of Pakistan on Economic Issues from 1998 to 2009. Earlier, he has served as the Chief Researcher and Joint Director at the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics.

He has authored nine books and more than 170 articles in national and international journals of economic science and has been honoured multiple times by the National Book Foundation for publishing articles in International Journals of economic science.
Dr Khan is also a recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz by President of Pakistan in 2005, and the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Excellence Award in 2010, for his outstanding contribution to the field of economics and public policy.
