NUST Donates Life-Saving Supplies to Help Flood Victims

The donation distribution event was held under the NUST Community Service Learning Program at School of Social Sciences & Humanities (S3H), NUST on Thursday. Maj Gen (R) Abid Ejaz Kahloon, Pro Rector P&R graced the distribution while Principal S3H, Dr. Ashfaque Hasan Khan, Dean, Dr. Salma Parveen Siddiqui were also present.

Donation comprising of life-support emergency aid for 250 families, cash donation of Rs 1.50 million and a motor bike to raise the income for the impoverished families as well as help children get back to school. Dr. Ashfaque Hasan Khan briefed the participants about the impressive efforts of the students and presented the donations to Pro Rector (P&R). The Chief Guest applauded the students involved and emphasized the need of continued similar efforts to bring much needed relief to the flood victims.

NUST, as a socially responsible university, believes in imparting to its students a sense of responsibility to their civic duties by initiating and assisting a number of student-led activities of social welfare. In the same spirit, the graduating students of S3H collected a substantial amount of cash and in-kind donations and medicines for the flood victims as part of their Community Service Learning (CSL) course, under the mentorship of Mr. Rafiq Ahmad Khan, Program Coordinator S3H.
