Afghan Delegation Visits S3H for Fostering Academic Cooperation

An Afghan delegation comprising of academics and teaching faculty from various universities visited the School of Social Sciences & Humanities (S3H), NUST, on November 30th, 2022

The Afghan Delegation was visiting under “Afghan Capacity Building Program” aimed at expanding bilateral collaborations.  

Dean, S3H, Dr. Salma Parveen Siddiqui, welcomed and briefed the visiting delegation about development activities, research and academic programmes offered at S3H. She told the delegation about the internationalisation linkages of NUST that strongly encourage bilateral cooperation with all the educational institutions of the world. 

During the talks, Afghan delegates showed keen interest to benefit from the diverse expertise/opportunities of S3H in research and publication domain and sought support and collaboration from this prestigious academic institution. The talks concluded with suggestions and proposals focusing on the launching of joint academic programmes, creating learning opportunities for youth through summer camps, short programmes, fellowships and joint research projects for scholars, and teachers to boost bilateral cooperation.   

Both sides emphasised to utilise digital technology, digital communication tools and platforms to boost bilateral cooperation and optimise the educational opportunities for the common good of people. Also, S3H Team led the delegation to visit media facilities/studios/MM Labs of MC Department.  

The Afghan delegation thanked for warmly welcoming them at the S3H and wished for strengthening the educational relations among both nations.
