Dr. Tauqeer Hussain Shah is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Development Studies. He holds a PhD in Sociology and Social Anthropology, with distinction, from Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich, Germany, MPhil in Sociology, from the University of Gujrat, Masters in Sociology, from the University of the Punjab, Lahore. He is also an alumnus of Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology (BGHS), University Bielefeld, Germany. He was also a research scholar at Lund University Sweden as a part of the Lund-Bielefeld Desk Exchange program. He has extensive experience in teaching, research, and development sectors both at the national and international levels. Moreover, he has teaching experience at several levels, for example, PhD, MPhil/MS, MA, and BS at various national and international universities. His research interests are interdisciplinary and include transnational migration, urban homelessness, community development, gender development, and poverty reduction strategies through microcredit with an epistemological focus on a constructivist standpoint. He has been granted several scholarships including the prestigious DAAD-ERASMUS+ Grant, funding for PhD fieldwork, international research traveling grants from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC), The Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZIF), University Bielefeld Germany, and honorarium for an excellent performance of the first year of the job at Federal Ministry of Interior, the government of Pakistan. He has published research articles in peer-reviewed and HEC-recognized journals and also works as a reviewer for many journals. He has presented his research work at several national and international conferences. Dr. Shah also has experience in operational research projects with several renowned national and international organizations including The European Union, The World Bank, UNDP, UNODC, and the Agriculture Council of Pakistan. Currently, he is supervising several dissertations of MS students.
